Harness Awareness Course

The harness awareness course covers students for use of harnesses in equipment such as Elevated Work Platforms, Order Picking Forklifts, and use of harnesses in general. This course discusses how to check, fit correctly, tag out a harness, dispose of damaged harnesses and general information about rescue and suspension trauma.

NOTE:  This course does not cover any aspect of working at heightsShould participants be working at heights, we strongly recommend that this course should be done in conjuntion with the nationally accredited unit RIIWHS204 Work safely at heights.

At our venues in Willamstown, Dandenong South and Campbellfield in Victoria.

Onsite in any State or territory of Australia (minimum numbers apply)

 

Duration:

 

1.5 - 2 hours (Depending on class size)

 

Equipment required:

 

All training equipment is provided by Go Workplace Training

 

Dress Requirements:

 

Closed toed shoes.  For on-site training, as per site requirements

 

Entry Requirements:

 

Can use the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of work.


Participants are required to have general good health and fitness and any pre-existing medical conditions that will affect the training must be disclosed prior to attending.

The harnesses used by Go Workplace Training are of a standard size.  Please contact our office if any participants may need a larger harness.

Candidates must be at least 15 years of age.

Course Description:

 

Participants will be able to check, use, tag out, dispose of, and learn the basic first aid practices relating to suspension trauma.

 

Outcome:

 

Upon successful completion of this course, participants receive a certificate of participation.
