This course is mandatory for anyone who wishes to operate a slewing mobile crane with a maximum rated capacity of up to 60 tonnes.

4 X 8 Hour Days OR 5 x 8 hour days (plus written questions to be completed at home prior to commencement of face-to face training)

Assessment day hours can vary due to a number of circumstances including but not limited to student numbers and experience levels, on the day of assessment.



Go Workplace Training has training venues in Clayton in Victoria and offers this training course onsite for groups of 4 or more.

Dress Requirements


Safety shoes and appropriate clothing (High visibility vests, hard hats and all other required PPE can be provided)

Equipment Required


Where training and assessment takes place at a Go Workplace Training facility, all equipment is supplied.  For on-site training, the equipment required is discussed at the time of booking to ensure that the site is suitable for the course.

Resources Required


All resources are supplied including trainees guide, workbook, resource materials, assessment paperwork and administrative documentation.

Entry Requirements



  • Candidates must be atleast 18 years of age
  • Can use the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk work. 
  • Participants are required to have general good health and fitness and any pre-existing medical conditions that will affect the training must be disclosed prior to attending.
  • To obtain a Victorian Worksafe Licence, applicants must reside in Victoria or, if they reside elsewhere, have a valid reason for obtaining the licence in Victoria.

Course Description


Participants will be able to identify the safety requirements for a slewing crane of between 20 & 60 tonne capacity & working environments as well as being able to apply a working knowledge of the OH&S and regulatory requirements in accordance with Worksafe standards.



At the successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency, and an email from WorkSafe Victoria with a link to access a Notice of Assessment (which acts as a temporary licence for 60 days).  Participants are required to lodge their Notice of Assessment on the WorkSafe portal or  at Australia Post and pay the Worksafe Licence fee within the 60 days to obtain an ongoing C6 licence from Worksafe.
