Truck Frame :

Counterweight :

Counterweight helps forklift to counterbalance the load being lifted. It attaches to the back of the forklift base. In case of electric forklifts, the battery does the same job.

Cab :

Cab is the area from where operator controls the forklift. The cab area in a forklift can be opened or closed depending on a requirement.  In some countries where there is a very cold weather the forklift cabs in those areas are enclosed and heated.

Overhead Guard :

the overhead guard, as the name suggests, works as a guard to protect operator from anything falling. this is a safety feature that is installed on most forklifts and in some forklifts it is even part of the truck frame assembly.

Power Source :

The term 'power source' refers to the internal combustion engine of a forklift.

Tilt Cylinders :

The tilt cylinders are there to assist forklift in loading and unloading. The hydraulic tilt cylinders pivot the mast to assist in loading and unloading a forklift.

Mast :

A very important component of a forklift, The mast is the vertical assembly that raises and lowers the forklift load. The interlocking rails structure of the mast helps it remain stable.

Carriage :

The forks and other attachments are mounted to the carriage. The carriage connects to teh mast and moves up and down the rails with chains. Sometimes, carriage can be directly connected to the hydraulic cylinders.

Load Back Rest :

This is a safety feature that is installed to prevent the load from shifting backward. Unless load back rest is installed the load is highly likely to shift backward upon full height lift.

Attachments :

There are various types of attachments used with forklifts. there can be one or multiple attachments in use with a forklift at any given time depending on forklift usage requirement.
